$190,000 - $210,000
This salary range is an hourly exempt (exempt from overtime) position. Benefits are provided in addition to the salary range.
Title: Dataflow Engineer
Clearance Required: TS/SCI
Location: Stevensville, MD
DESCRIPTION
This is a full-time position and work is performed at a customer location. The Dataflow Engineer SME is responsible for using large data sets to find opportunities for product and process optimization and using models to test the effectiveness of different courses of action. The Dataflow Engineer SME uses a variety of data mining/data analysis methods, uses a variety of data tools, builds and implements models, uses/creates algorithms, and creates/runs simulations.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Drives operational results with data-based insights.
- Works with a wide range of stakeholders and functional teams.
- Works with stakeholders throughout the organization to identify opportunities for leveraging company data to drive business solutions.
- Develops custom data models and algorithms to apply to data sets.
- Develops testing framework and is responsible for testing model quality.
- Coordinates with different functional teams to implement models and monitor outcomes.
- Develops processes and tools to monitor and analyze model performance and data accuracy.
- Prepares detailed reports for management and other departments by analyzing and interpreting data.
- Trains assistants and other members of the team on properly organizing findings and reading collected data.
- Designs computer code using various languages to improve and update software and applications.
- Refers to previous instances and findings to determine the ideal method for gathering data.
- Responsible for supervising and mentoring subordinate project staff.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design strategies for enterprise databases, data warehouse systems, and multidimensional networks.
- Set standards for database operations, programming, query processes, and security.
- Model, design, and construct large relational databases or data warehouses.
- Create and optimize data models for warehouse infrastructure and workflow.
- Integrate new systems with existing warehouse structure and refine system performance and functionality.
- Provides technical/management leadership on major tasks or technology assignments.
- Establishes goals and plans that meet project objectives.
- Has domain and expert technical knowledge.
- Decision-making and domain knowledge may have a critical impact on overall project implementation.
- May supervise others.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Clearance Required: TS/SCI
- Minimum experience required: At least 12 years.
- May be substituted for a: High School degree and 16 years of experience OR Associates and 14 years of experience.
- A candidate holding a relevant Master’s degree may be granted 2 years’ experience credit for that extra education.
- A candidate holding a relevant PhD degree may be granted 4 years’ experience credit for that extra education.
- A maximum of 1 year of experience credit may be added for a candidate holding position specific required or desired technical certifications.
- 7 years of position-relevant work experience.
- Experience with data exploration, data cleaning, data visualization, or data mining.
Desired Qualifications:
- Vendor tool certifications appropriate to TDL requirements.
- Experience in Python software development or equivalent.
